7 Biblical Reasons Why Writing is Important

When you write, what do you normally write about? Do you have a blog or are you an author and writing is a way to spread the message you want your readers to get...

For me, writing is a safe haven. It helps me gain clarity through circumstances in my life. I became an author to help others through what I've learned and doing so, came through writing.

The Bible itself was given to us through writing God's spoken word for us.

I wanted to share 7 Biblical reasons why writing is important.

1. "Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it."

- Habakkuk 2:2

• It gives us clarity and not only for us - but for those who read it.

2. "I am writing to you, dear children,

because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name."

- 1 John 2:12

• Writing gives us a reminder of things that were already done, so we can stay encouraged.

3. "I am writing to you, fathers,

because you know him who is from the beginning."

- 1 John 2:13a

• Books, journals, articles, or blogs that are written give us the opportunity to know the author.

4. "I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one."

- 1 John 2:13b

• Writing helps us to overcome evil in the world, negative thoughts, and circumstances.

5. "I write to you, dear children because you know the Father."

- 1 John 2:14a

6. "I write to you, fathers because you know him who is from the beginning."

- 1 John 2:14b

• Again, for reasons 5 & 6 it shows that writing gives us the opportunity to know the author. God being our author, the Bible provided us a way to have a special relationship with God.

7. "I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one."

- 1 John 2:14c

• Writing encourages us and gives us the confidence we need to press forward beyond our circumstances. It gives us the opportunity for victory.

There are so many other reasons why writing is important. If you are thinking of becoming an author and sharing a message God placed in you, I encourage you to do it. Your obedience can help so many other people!
